Businesses are set to face the possibility of legal action if they do not make efforts to ensure that their websites can be accessed by people with disabilities. The Disabilities Rights Commission has issued a new code of practice which has warned site owners that they will be in breach of the 1995 Disability Discrimination Act if they fail to comply with official guidelines.
This site is fully compliant with level one accessibility rules specified by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) AAA-level standard. You can read more about the WAI standards at the
W3C website.
This site can be navigated without the use of a mouse or pointing device, using access keys.
Users can adjust settings such as the font size and colours to improve visibility and any changes you've already made in your web browser prior to visiting Musubi Designs Ltd are automatically reflected.
This site is in the process of being made compatible with JAWS® for Windows. JAWS® for Windows uses a software speech synthesizer and the computer?s sound card to read aloud information from the screen. JAWS® also outputs to refreshable Braille displays.
The page sizes on this site have been optimised to keep download time to a minimum.
The articles on each page can be printed without the navigation and menus by using the Print Article link.
Access Keys
The major web browsers offer an alternative way of using navigation links - instead of using the mouse, keyboard access keys are used. To use an access key, hold down the ALT key (Windows) or COMMAND key (Apple Macintosh) and press the appropriate letter. Then press RETURN to
go to the desired page.
Access Keys are not case sensitive, so both ALT-M and ALT-m are equally valid keys for "Send E-mail".
The following access keys have been selected to avoid conflicting with the main access keys used in the menus of the major browsers:
C for Consultancy
W for Website Design
O for Website Hosting

I for Internet Access
L for Telephone
R for Branding

Major Browsers
This site is compatible with, at least, the following major browsers:
Internet Explorer 6
Netscape Navigator 7
Opera 7
Firefox 1.0
Page Size
In order to keep download times to a minimum, pages on this site have been designed so that they are under 40kb; many pages are less than 30kb.
Font Size
Some users might find screen text easier to read by increasing the size at which text is displayed. To do this you should simply adjust your browser's settings.
If you use Microsoft Internet Explorer, go to the View menu, select Text Size and then either Larger or Largest.
If you use Netscape Navigator, go to the View menu and choose Increase Font until the text is the size you require.
Colours
Changing the site's background colour can be particularly useful for users who rely on magnification technology as white can produce an uncomfortable glare. It is also possible to change the colour of body text on the site. Both can be achieved by changing preferences in your browser:
If you use Microsoft Internet Explorer, go to the Tools menu, select Internet Options, select Colors and make changes to text and background colours in the Colors panel.
If you use Netscape Navigator, go to the Edit menu, select Preferences, open the Appearance menu and select Colors. You can set the colour of text and background from here.
